State citizenship certificate


The request must contain the following information:

  • name and  surname of person requested for certificate

  • date and place of  birth

  • year of citizenship award (naturalization) or re-award (re-naturalization)

  • residence in the time of citizenship award (naturalization) or re-award (re-naturalization)

  • relationship to person requested certificate, or verified authorisation in the case of representing that person

  • the address to which the settlement of request should be delivered.

Administrative fee:

According to tariffs of administrative fees specified in the supplement of Act of Slovak National Council No 468/2000 Coll., by which Act No 145/1995 Coll. on Administrative Fees is changed and accomplished in compliance with later regulations, each request is charged by 150,-Sk (Slovak koruna) per one person and one year. In the case of affirmative settlement of the request, verification of certificate is charged by administrative fee of 50.- Sk.

Note: State citizenship was usually awarded by institutions on district administrative level (district offices, district national committees). The Slovak National Archives keeps only documents on citizenship to individuals awarded or re-awarded by higher state administrative authorities (the Provincial Office in Bratislava, the Police Headquarters Office in Bratislava, the Commission of the Interior)..
